ReplyDeleteI like that you have shown a lot of curiosity toward Sir Edmund Hillary and his achievements.
#5 is a good question, however you have asked a lot of questions that you could easily research and find out for yourself. Perhaps next time you could think about some questions that only Sir Edmund Hillary would know and could answer. Also, would it really be worth asking him if it's true he died? I don't think be able to respond to that..
Questions I would probably ask would be; ‘Can you explain what it felt like to breath thin air high up on Mount Everest?’ and ‘ Did you see anyone who had frozen to death on the climb? If yes, what went through your mind as you travelled past them?’.
I bet the mental struggle was almost as tough as the physical climb, I can’t imagine trying to climb in that environment, could you? Would you?
