  1. Kia ora Sariah,

Congratulations on completing your very fist activity for this years Summer Learning Journey. It looks like you have been busy doing 2 days worth of activities so I am going to have to try and keep up with you. Students within the Ako Hiko cluster have nearly posted 200 activities and it is only day 2. I think I am going to be busy over the summer.

I really loved how you introduced the activity. This will help visitors to your blog understand what you are doing and that you are part of the Summer Learning Journey programme. You have included 3 really interesting facts about Aotearoa. I think it is cool that our land has a meaning behind the name Aotearoa which is 'The Land of the Long White Cloud'. According to the Te Ara website, there are two stories that are behind the name Aotearoa. Both of the stories include voyagers who were guided to Aotearoa by a long white cloud.

When I was living in Taupo, we would quite often see a circle of clouds hanging over the land and then a big hole exposing the blue sky, which was above the lake. I wonder why this happens? Maybe it has something to do with the wind and this caused the big white cloud hanging over the land. Do you have any theories as to why the clouds hang over the land?

I am so excited to see more incredible activities from you over the summer. Keep up the awesome work, Sariah.

I hope you are enjoying your holidays,
    Megan :)
