Hi Sariah,
ReplyDeleteIt's Leslie here, reading your blog from my home in Canada. I'm a member of the Summer Learning Journey team and I'm so glad that you've chosen to participate in the program this summer. Good for you!!
I can see that you're keen to do a lot of the activities but I'm afraid that a number of your answers are too short. I'd suggest that you read the activity over two times before you start to give a response. That way, you might be clearer on what you're being asked to do for each of the activities.
For this one, for instance, you are to write a story from your imagination. It is to have at least 8 sentences and it's to describe what you would find outside after and acid rain storm. Your story is talking about a rain storm, but not an acid rain storm and it's a little too short. You haven't written 8 sentences, or more.
If you want to add to this story, feel free to do so. I can check back on your blog later to see what you've chosen to do.
It's too bad that we have to learn about acid rain, let alone write stories about it!! In Canada we've had lots of concerns about our lakes and forests being affected by acid rain. In some cases, all of the living creatures in lakes have died because the water became too acidic. And that affects the animals and birds that live on and around the lakes. It's a big problem!
We now require companies that produce toxic smoke to improve their chimneys so there isn't so much being emitted into the air. That's made a big difference so we're not dealing with as much acid rain now as we did 30 years ago. Yeah!!
I hope people in New Zealand can also come up with ways to reduce the amount of acid rain falling in your beautiful country!!
And I hope you're enjoying your summer holiday, Sariah!!
Cheers,
Leslie
